Mar 5th, 2011 I’m lovin American Idol 2011… here’s why!
Straight off, I think the producers have upped the ante and are really putting in extra effort this year after the ratings for AI dropped drastically last year.. The whole production of the shows this year have been extremely entertaining and has been a breath of fresh air. From the constant swearing of Steven Tyler to JLo’s crying episode stopping a show midway.

Best of all, the talent is simply amazing this year … there has already been a Standing O after Pia’s performance even before they got to the Top 12.
Now…let’s see who I’m rooting for and whom I believe will actually shine this season.
1st off, we have scruffy, homeless & “SEXY” looking Casey Abrams. He certainly doesn’t come across as your typical AI potential winner but this guy is major talented. Randy said that he is the best musician that AI has ever had (probably because he is also a bassist just like Randy!! 
)
Then there is James Durbin, the rocker whom many people have compared to Adam Lambert. I believe a huge difference is that James is straight!! But here is what James had to say about the comparison between Adam and himself “I’m my own person. He’s his own person. We’re completely different stylistically. He tweeted about me after my performance, I really appreciate it,”.
I’m not sure how he’ll fare with the various themes that’ll be thrown at him each week, but he is a natural and can really rock the house down.
Although James struggles with Tourette and Asperger’s syndroms, he certainly doesn’t act like it on stage.
Luther Vandross??? … Jacob Lusk sings really well and has mad vocals! However I’m not rooting for him because he doesn’t come across as Man enough for me! ( lol … as if Adam was … 2 seasons ago when I cheered for him week after week!!) However, I do believe that Jacob is versatile enough to make it to the finals.
Lastly, we have the next country superstar… Scotty McCreery. This kid is going to be the male comparison of Carrie Underwood and there is no denying that he has mad talent for country music. I seriously doubt that he will make it to the finals but he will undoubtedly become a very successful country singer in the future.
And THAT’S IT!! I believe that the girls are not of the same calibre as the boys this year and AI 2011 will be a boy.
My money is on Casey Abrams!!
Having said that Thia Megia’s performance on wednesday deserves mentioning. After this performance Randy said that Thia’s voice reminded him of the late Michael Jackson’s voice. Her rendition of Out Here On My Own was super, considering that she is only 15 years old. She certainly did Philippines proud!
