I’ve been using this method of getting targeted traffic from You Tube very effectively for the last whole year. Infact you can say that part of my online success it due to the traffic that I got from YouTube in the early days. Had it not been for the free traffic flow, my first website would have been a complete flop as it did not have any other source of traffic except YouTube. I have sold over 200 copies of my first digital product as a direct result of the traffic from YouTube.

All you need to do is shoot a video in your relevant topic, edit it using Microsoft Movie Maker (this is provided free with your Microsoft Package when you purchased the computer) and then upload it to YouTube. Even a simple video like my son’s sports day can drive some traffic to this blog. Here is his 2nd Sports Day video taken in April 2008.

You’ll notice that I have added my website URL to the entire video so many people who are curious will likely click through to view my website. My website address is also posted as the first line in the video description that I posted in YouTube so that people can easily click on the link next to the video after watching the it.

I’ve used videos to promote many products with great success, you can also create videos about any topic and generate enough traffic to a website to either increase your blog readership or make a profit.

You’d be surprised at what people like to watch, because even really strange videos that you would not spare a minute for have many views and do remember that not only is this traffic source free it is also a one time set up project that will continue to work for as long as YouTube exists or until you remove the video.

Since Microsoft Movie Maker is free to use and also easy to use, you can create many videos to suit your targeted audience. Give it a try and you’ll be very pleased with the results.

People use a variety of methods to generate income online and Google Adsense is one very popular method. Although I’ve been reading about how to do it over the last year I have never really bother to try to make much from it… until last week.

Previously I had already been making a little loose change from Google Adsense but I have never looked at it as a potential source of income as I thought that it would be too difficult to generate big enough checks to make it worth my while (time pursuing it).

As I am in the midst of a test and review, I decided to allow mypast customers the opportunity to view what I was doing. I always test all products that I intend to review before I actually write the review, this enables me to give my honest opinion about the product. I test each racing system out either by placing actual bets or just paper trading, sometimes even back testing. To do this, I use the product’s recommended selection method to identify the bets, then either place a small bet or just paper trade.

Since I had been doing this for a while already, I decided to invite all my past 500+ customers to join me in testing. I created a webpage to allow my customers to view the picks so that they could follow the betting if they liked. Since the service was free (for now) I thought of how I could make money from the influx of traffic to this webpage and decided that I could make money using a 2 pronged strategy.

First I would make some money from placing “discreet” google ads in strategic places and the other money making technique would be to promote other people’s products otherwise known as affiliate marketing (which is also relatively new to me).

As it turns out I have made quite a nice amount over the last 7 days. Since this post is about Google Adsense, so it shall not share the spotlight with my affiliate sales. Just Google Adsense alone has made me a grand $24.05, which is pretty good considering that it is sort of like free money or passive income. Since the information was going to be uploaded on this webpage anyway and just by adding a single adsense code I made myself $24.05 richer. On one of the 7 days I made $8, simply amazing. But let me warn you it is not as easy as I make it sound. Just by putting an adsense code isn’t going to make you any money, it is the whole “strategy” or plan that needs to be put in motion that will bring about a good amount of adsense income that can be worthwhile… ie enough to buy something with…not just a few cents..(many people manage to make a few cents..)

The beauty about google ads is that they give you the ability to change the colours to match that of your website and this really make a lot of difference with click through rates. Getting XX clicks over a week is no easy feat I tell you.

Now see this screenshot of where the clicks came from and I’ll explain why I put the ads there in the first place.

You need to place your ads in strategic locations so as to help the click through rates. As you can see HLP Daily Lays has XX clicks. (more clicks compared to the rest) This is my main top banner ad for all the pages that are linked to this webpage. Here is a screenshot of the ad.

You can see that ad 1 is placed on top right below some of my own links, the best is to place them as close together as possible. Once people have read what they need to read on this webspage they are very likely to look for something else to proceed to.

Since Google has the technology to place ads that are relevant to your site’s content their is a high likelihood that they will find an ad that interests them. This is why google is the leading ad provider and why some people can make a fortune with Google adsense. All they do is keep churning out websites that provide people with good quality information and place google ads strategically.

My ad 2 is placed right next to the information that they are looking for, just incase they might have scrolled down and ad 1 is  no longer in view. So this is why ad 2 has the second highest click through rate. You can see in the expanded google ads screenshot above, it is Daily Lays Box Ads with XX clicks. (less than for ad 1)

Now for the Grand Plan that would bring people to my website and inadvertently click on my ads…

You see I have a mailing list of over 500 people who are my past customers so I decided to email all of them to tell them about this new product that I would be testing and invited them to test it out alongside with me.

This resulted in 200+ people going to my website (the first day) to check it out and they did exactly as I expected and clicked on some ads. The traffic also resulted in one affiliate sale on the first day (more on affiliate sales in another post).

From this exercise I have added an additional income stream of $24 in 7 days, this is now worth my while… don’t you think?

Well, as the saying goes “free things are the best” and better still if you can monetize free stuff then you have potentially a money making formula that can last a pretty long time.

Hi There!

Yup, I know I am almost 1 week late with this post…. but you’ll understand…

You see, I was just over worked last week. I had this 5 day project going, 3 client’s betting accounts to manage and I decide to start putting my younger son down for his afternoon nap myself. Don’t forget I’ve also got my 2 subscription websites to deal with, people rely on me to tell them what to do later in the day when the races start…this is everyday!
5 Day Project

I had to create the product and keep updating this blog about how it was to be done. While most of the product was already written earlier, I still needed to present it properly in the format of an ebook so that the person reading it would understand it.

Then I had to hop over here and explain each step the 5 Day Project and also write it in a way that a total beginner would understand.

Managed Betting Accounts

Last week was a roller coaster for me where the betting accounts were concerned because of the time and attention it took for me to monitor these 3 accounts. If you add my own account in that would make 4 accounts. This week I’ve accepted one more account! LOL…

My Dear Son

Over here in Malaysia we are blessed with the luxury of having live in household help for a very small cost. We have an indonesian lady who works for us and basically runs the entire household. Here monthly wage is only $150 but that does not include all the Agency fees that we need to pay and her air fare. We also pay for anything else that she needs which includes toiletries, food, clothes and medical fees.

Pawit, our helper is due to return to Indonesia in June and we might be without help for a few weeks. She has been putting Aaron down for his nap since he was born in Oct 06, so I’ve decided to take over so that we will have a smooth transition when our new helper arrives. And as all moms would know … it is not easy trying to get a toddler to fall asleep!

Subscription Sites

I run 2 subscription websites, one that sends out selections for horses that will not win and the other is a selection service for horses that will win. It takes me at least an hour and a half to scrutinize the daily race forms before I can make my picks… This 2 websites account for half of my ‘pay’ , so I am not complaining!

Now I am sure you can picture how much I had on my plate last week!

So then, let’s get started.

FTP and Paypal

Now that you’ve created the website/sales page, you’ll need to upload it to your website. You can use a free FTP software called Filezilla Client, it is easy to use and very reliable.

Once you have uploaded your sales page, please check you Paypal link. Make sure that it is set up to pay you and not someone else. Also don’t forget to set up the download page so that the buyer knows where to go after paying to download the product.

YouTube Video

Now that you have a product to sell, you’ll need to get your product infront of as many people as possible otherwise you’ll never make a single sale.

You can choose to create the video in 2 ways. Either in a form of presentation or just video yourself presenting your product. In this video you’ll need to point out the benefits of your product and/or what problems it will help your potential buyer solve.

You can use your digital camera to shoot this video, most of them have that feature now.

After you’ve created this video you’ll need to transfer it to your computer and edit it with Windows Movie Maker. You’ll need to add your website link to your video so that people know where to go after the video.

Once you’ve completed the video, all that you need to do is to upload it to YouTube.

Then sit back and wait. I only got my first sale after 2 whole weeks, I almost gave up. BUT that same free website ended up paying me almost $1000 in the last 8 months.

Since I consider it as free money, I think great to have the extra $1000. So be patient, the money will come in.

So off you go, go make a few videos and start uploading them to YouTube under different tags.

Football Investors Club - is a joint venture football betting system that I created with my brother.

Private Betting Account Management - this service has not been launched officially but I already have 3 customers. I will be working to give this service a ‘face’ this month.

What I am going to do this time is a little different from anything that I have done so far. I’ve always believed that there should be no ‘free ride’ hence I have never given away a free product that I’ve created.

However, I’ve seen how well these ‘free’ products work virally and how they bring in much welcomed sales even though the product was not sold for cash initially.

To do this I will create a short product to detail how to make 3-5% profit from horse racing everyday. Let’s name is Profiting From Favourites.   Favourites here refers to the favourite horse for the benefit of those who have never seen a horse race.

When making this product, I’ll include links to my various other products and services, I will likely give away free trials to my membership sites and a discount for other products.

Then I’ll create a video that will tell people about this great free system download and send them to the website where they can collect this free download.

At the website, I’ll promote my new Private Betting Account Management service.

While I don’t expect to make a great deal of money from this marketing effort in the near term, I can see it bringing in some sales. The numbers will just work it’s magic as it always has. For every 100 downloads I am bound to make 1 sale. Considering the fact that this is totally free for me to set up, that 1 sales per hundred downloads is like free money!

Also remember that once this is set up it is all fully automated.

So then, it is back to work for me!!

Whether you own a blog or a website, the only way you are going to make any money is to have people visit your website. To make a full time income online, you need to drive bus loads of traffic to your websites everyday. This is not easy and is a work in progress.

Back in June last year, I gave myself no choice but to TRY my hardest to make a living online. I had left my job and had bills to pay…so failing was not an option. If I had not made the decision to TRY to make a living online without a job to fall back on, I would not have worked that hard and may not have discovered that it was possible to make an income online. STOP!!! I am not suggesting to any of you to do the same…

As I had been scammed too many times into believing in all those plug in websites and instant online businesses, I decided to give it a shot at creating my own product and try to market it without an expense account.

Since I had some experience in horse racing systems and had made some money this way, I decided to write about my experience in an ebook that I titled “How To Make $50 - $100 a Day From UK Horse Racing” .

I supposed you can call me lucky in a way because I was using the keyword “money” that the online and offline world can’t get enough of. So the video that I created to market my product was quickly picked up by many people and has been watched 5225 times as I write this post. While I’ve sold more than 100 copies of that first product, it was only the beginning of things to come.

Creating Videos

I find that creating a video is the easiest thing that a newbie can do to drive traffic very quickly to your website. You can create all sorts of videos and link them all to your website. They do not need to be of the same theme as your product or website. The best way to get people to view your video is to make it an interesting video. Funny, scary or even accident videos get a lot of views. People are just curious and look for such videos and if you managed to get 1000 viewers, some of them will click through to your website. If your product is free, the click through rate is even higher.

This method is FREE to get traffic to your websites. You can create 10 videos for each website and that should really help with the traffic.

I make an average of 20 sales every month from that first website since I uploaded the video and I only created one very amateur video.

Link Building

In my opinion this is the ultimate traffic generator and it can be free. I say it can be free for those who are willing to do some work.

All internet marketers use this method to generate tons of traffic but will probably never admit it.

The best links are non reciprocal links or one way links that point to your website. There are 2 ways to do this, the paid way and the free way. Both of them are equally effective and will bring you a lot of traffic if done correctly.

Let me explain how link building helps with your traffic and sales.

Search engines think that the more people who link to you the better or more relevant your website is to the given searched keywords. This method works very well for niche topics that don’t have not too much competition.

Here is how to do it the free way;

You need to submit your website to website directories, to as many of them as you can find. There are free softwares that help you do this, I’ll upload one here for you guys to use on another day. Unfortunately some of these websites require you to link back to them. This would render that link pointless. However, there are also many site directories that do not require the link back, these are good for you.

The other more ‘lethal’ method is to write 3 different articles a week and submit them to all article directories that you can find. There are hundreds! Since it is such a tedious challenge you might want to use a software for this too. I am not going to go into the details of how to write an article…as that is a whole post by itself. The point here is just to get your link in the resource box found on every article submission to appear on those article directories. There are a 2 ways that this will help drive more traffic to your website;

1. the numerous links speaks volumes to search engines

2. some people search at article directories for articles to republish on their newsletters, so when their subscribers read your articles they have the ability to follow the resource link to get to your website.

In the old days this technique was used by all successful internet marketers as it was free and very effective.

While this method is still widely used and very good at getting you some results within 2 months, there is another link building exercise that is very effective with much less work involved, WAY LESS work involved. You can get yourself 500 one way links pointing back to your website in a matter of days or weeks. This one costs some money but is well worth it.

This method is considered a bit underground for internet marketers and most people do not want to talk about it for fear that their websites will get penalised, which happened to quite a few top guns last year.

There are many websites that sell links, just do a google search for ‘one way links’ and you’ll have an idea of where to start.

What you need to do is first select a couple of keywords that you use on your website. Say 3 or 4 of them , then sign up of one of the link services and start creating the links to point to your website but not all at once in a single day. You can vary the links to maybe a handful a day or so. By the end of 2 weeks you’ll have a good 200 links pointing to your website. Your google rank and alexa rank will not change so quickly and make take a month or two for the search engines to digest, then suddenly like magic you’ll appear on page 1 or 2 of the search engine searches for your keyword.

You can achieve the same results with the article submission, but for me that is just too tedious and painstaking!
