It was another hour and half of work for the kids and me this morning. I bought a new box of paints last night so the boys were bugging me right after breakfast to do some painting. We had not done painting for a long time now because we ran out of paints, so they remember that it was loads of fun…

I started them off with a drawing of a car each on an A4 paper and they had to paint it.  It turned out pretty…er ugly…because the paint brushes were all out of shape. I need to buy them new ones… (mental note..buy buy brushes…)

Here it is, I guess you can figure which one is Ethans.

After painting cars, we did paint leaves and “chop” on the paper. Ethan really liked this, he kept trying new colours and ended with a paper full of different coloured leaves. Aaron is just plain bossy…he wanted to do everything himself, he was like “I wan doo, I wan doo… , Aawon doo”

Ethan and I went on to make a mask while Aaron got bored and left to watch Barney!

I brought out some old paper plates from Ethan’s first birthday party and Ethan drew eyes, a nose and a mouth on it, then coloured it a bit. I then cut out the eyes and mouth with a pen knife and Ethan took a picture of me in action.

Then I cut some hair from newspaper and we even added a beard, LOL… poor mummy is already running out of ideas on day 2. Anyone with craft ideas or suggestions of activities to do with a 4 year old, please post them here… PLEASE!!!!

That was the morning session - 9am till 1030am. They had a mentos each then watched Elmo Wild Wild West, which is hilarious by the way not to mention super entertaining.

After Aaron finally decided to nap at 11.30am, Ethan and I played word games using the flash cards. I have to find many new ways to teach him his words as 4yr olds have super short attention span. So we started of with flashing the cards, me to him then he became the teacher and flashed them back for me!

Then I laid out 3 words a time on the floor and read out a word each time for him to point out. We also reversed roles for this “game” too, where he laid out the words and he read out one and I had to pick it out!!Very cheeky way of getting him to read them… kekeke!

I even resorted to letting him throw the words like a frisbee towards the sofa and I must say he is really beginning to read most of the first 12 words.

Here is our last game (Aaron woke up) where we had to pick out the word and place it in the basket. I took this picture with Aaron on my lap so you can see his little legs in the picture. The camera was facing us and the picture was a little blur because of this.

This is real different from all my online google work … kekeke…boy am I glad that tomorrow is a public holiday! Yes, I do follow the Selangor gazetted holidays!!!

Over the weekend Chris and I asked Ethan to read his Peter & Jane 2b and were a bit disappointed to learn that he could only read about 40% of the words in the book. We do realise that he is only 4 yrs old but he has been going to ’school’/nursery for the last ..almost 2 years. He spends 3 hours a day in school and what he has achieved this year is less than satisfactory. So I’ve decided to stop sending him to school for the rest of the year and to try home schooling him.

In December last year after Ethan had been attending school for 1 year, I tested his ABC’s and found that he hardly knew them. Yah…sure it is play school but they are supposed to teach them simple things like ABCs & 123s. Last year I did not expect him to learn to write yet. So I complaint to the pricipal last year that having spent a year at her school he still did not know his Alphabet, so she said “don’t worry, this year he will learn all that and more”, “furthermore you don’t want to force too much onto him because he may just tune out after that”, she reassured me that the pace picks up this year. I decided to teach him the alphabet myself using flash cards during the school holidays and he picked up  75% of it before school started in January.

So history has repeated itself with this year’s good money spent that resulted in below average results because Ethan actually believes that school is where kids gather to play…

Chris and I agreed that I can teach him more in a month than what they have taught him in a whole year, this is why we have decided that he should not return to school till January for the start of proper Year 5 kindergarten.

This morning was day 1 of home schooling which will carry on for the next 3 months till he goes to a new school next year.

Here is what we did today. I have no experience with this but I thought that I could make it a little fun for both of the boys so that they can enjoy learning.

Class 1 - I drew a house (remember that I am lousy at drawing!) and asked them to use some old colour stickers to colour the house. Here is Ethan’s house , all completed on his own.

Aaron took part in this assignment as well but had the maids help! Here is his house.

After this I drew the letter A for the on paper and gave them a pair of scissors each for Class 2. Only Ethan managed to complete this task but on the second attempt. This task is supposed to help with his motor skills. Here’s his work.

Aaron was just so excited to get his hands on a pair of scissors (under supervision) for the first time.

The maid ran off in search for the colour pencils that have disappeared recently so Aaron started to wander around so he ‘left school’. Ethan then went on to colour a fisherman for Class 3.

All that work and only an hour had gone by!!! I wonder how they can hold their attention for 3 hours…kekeke, that’s probably why the kids end up playing so much. They probably only teach them things 30 mins a day!

I dug out some old flash cards that I had paid a hand and a leg for when Ethan attended Shichida classes and we went on to learn 12 words by using the flash to memorize as pictures technique.

I must have gone through the 12 words like 10X with him because after the 5th time, Ethan was asking me.. “again?”

LOL…

In total today we spend 1 hr and 30 mins on work and then I rewarded both of them with a gummi bear each, so that we ended on a good note. The wonders of the gummi bear!

I’ll need to drive out to get more supplies for this home schooling thing so that we can do more art and craft , then I’m going to need to read up about what 4 year olds are supposed to be learning.

Not bad I guess for day 1 of school considering that we were totally unprepared!

Oh yes, after lunch Ethan practised his writing and he is getting much faster these days compared to the first day he started writing at home.

The internet is such an amazing invention as it gives anyone regardless of race/religion or nationality the ability to start an online business with literally no money down.

When I started out one year ago, little did I expect to be earning this much a year later. Although I am not making megabucks only small bucks, I have hope that one day I will hit the ultimate dream of making a 5 figure pay cheque.

On this special day as I turn one year older, I’ve received some surprises from Google and Clickbank.

Starting last year around this time, I began experimenting with Google Adsense in hopes of making some…I figured that even if it took me a whole year to reach my first payout it would be worth it. And I have just made it to payout (minimum $100) BUT you should note that it was so blardy difficult to even make $20 let alone $100.

After several months my Adsense balance was going no where and hovering around a few bucks..I really gave up then and forgot about Google Adsense for a long time till very recently. I am sure most of you remember my Google Adsense Experiment which started on the 14th of August which is exactly 43 days ago.

Before the whole experiment began I had roughly 20 bucks in my adsense account. I managed to qualify for my very first payout yesterday when my account surpassed $100, in the past 43 days since I began my adsense experiment I’ve made $63.68 from the very same free info webpage.

My account balance stands at $102.45 as of this morning, this means that Google is paying for dinner tonight at Michelangelo’s Kitchen.

To make my birthday even sweeter I received my second cheque from Clickbank just 2 days ago for only $146.12, it’s not a lot but enough to pay for a nice birthday present for Aaron who turns 2 a week from now and pay for his birthday party too.

Yesterday afternoon while the kids were as usual running around the house and screaming, suddenly Ethan yelled out for me saying “mummy, come see the white fish die already…” I thought he was joking… but decided to go down to investigate.

We’ve had this little pond going since Dec 31st, 2007. Me and dh were busy hammering the wood together on the eve of new year while people were out celebrating and popping champagne! We bought 5 small carps for the pond and one bandaraya (cleaner fish). Initially for the first 6 months we used to feed them all the time and paid quite a lot of attention to this carp family we had living with us but lately we’ve been busy with other things so we have not been “visiting” them as often as previously.

To my horror, this is what I saw when I got to the scene of the ‘crime’.

This white carp seems to have been stoned to death, I think it was poking it’s head around looking for food when it accidentally got stuck below a stone (too small to call it a rock..). But it is still pretty strange that it did not manage to wiggle it’s way out of there.

So I stood there a bit shocked for a while thinking poor fish…and then I counted the fish and OMG…there were only 4 inclusive of the white stoned one! Where the heck did another fish go? It seems that we may have lost a fish sometime in the last 2 months without knowing it. So from 5 fish we are now down to 3!

Even fish need attention.

For those of you who know anything about feng shui, this would not be a good situation to be in (not that I believe in feng shui lol). I was relating this incident over yahoo chat this morning and my friend quickly told me to go out and buy a few more fish to replace the AWOL fish and the stoned fish…

It is still a mystery … the AWOL fish. Do you have any conspiracy theories about what may have occured?

I asked my maid if she fried one of them…???!!!!

I just logged in to my business email and found an interesting email from the guy who sent me 3 pounds twice. Here is what it said;

Anyone here mind telling me if this is even vaguely correct?

Most people who know me think that I am skinny and for a good reason too. For most of the last 12 months I’ve weight 45-46kg which is not the ideal weight for a 162cm girl.

So I made several attempts to gain weight over the last year and have had some success recently as I now weigh 49kgs. I recently stepped onto the weighing scale to see how I was progressing and was pretty delighted to see the needle almost reaching 50 but then I’ve also noticed that my contours (you’ll see my illustrations below) have changed too. Much to my dismay, the extra 3kgs (mostly from chocolates and carbonated drinks) has now been distributed lumped on my abdominal area.

Of course it doesn’t help that I am a mother of 2 and all the skin is so stretched there around the tummy, so any extra fat tend to have meets at my stomach area (where there used to be a six pack)!  This has spurred me to take action by cycling on the cycling machine at least twice a week for 20 mins a session while watching Ellen Degeneres… (only done 3 sessions so far)

Suddenly today, it dawned on me that I should be doing sit ups NOT cycling!!! Dumbass… So just now before my shower I huffed and puffed to 50 sit ups.

While in the shower later, this is what I saw. Please note that this is a P18 image, to be seen under parental guidance only.

First let me apologize because I am really bad with graphics and can’t draw to save my life! But they will give you a good idea of what I am talking about.

Please stand up now, take off your clothes and look down. (make sure you are at home ok!) Oh, by the way…this is for women not men. Hmmnn…maybe if they are seriously over weight too, then they would also have the black lines!

If what you see when looking down looks very similar to the picture above, then it is highly recommended that you immediately do 50 sit ups. Do 50 sit ups a day for 30 days and I think you’ll end up looking like the picture below. (I am not sure of outcome yet because it is only day 1 for me today).

After a painful 1500 sit ups, this is what you should see when you take off your clothes and look down again.

Please note that you SHOULD NOT look down in the shower from Day 1 till Day 30 , during the entire length of this regime. This will ensure that you will be pleasently suprised on Day 30!

Quickly then…take off your clothes and look…  And tell me what you see!

If your stomach looks anything like the first picture above, then you really need to get yourself some Turbulance Training because it really works. I am so impressed with the numerous testimonials with before and after pictures, simply amazing!

It is now 3.11am and about an hour since I got up to pee… As usual I stopped by my computer to check on something and noticed a notification that some kind soul had sent me his second donation in the last 30 days. After checking on a few things I promptly returned to bed and tried to go back to sleep… and tried….and tried… but it seems like my brain just won’t shut off again as it began to wander and plan for the coming week. So here I am sitting here in front of the laptop at 3.15am writing this post about what I am thinking. I thought that if I were to write it down at least I will remember most of it in the morning! I am sure that I am going to regret this by 2pm after lunch tommorow because I’ll be dozing off just as I’ll need to begin work…

I was thinking of a couple of things … in no particular order…

• That I still have not found a talking Ernie or Cookie Monster for Aaron as I was planning to suprise him with a talking Sesame Street (almost typed sesame seed!) character for his second birthday coming up in less than 2 weeks.
• I was also thinking of where we would dine on my birthday, I’ve been compiling a list of places in my mind over the last week. The options are Italianies, Teluk Gong Seafood (in Sunway), Alegro or Rakuzen. I’ve narrowed it down to either Alegro or Rakuzen but it seems like we’ll probably end up in Alegro since I love Italian food so much. Give me a nice Spaghetti Bolognaise and you’ll make my day!! I’ve been crazy in love with Spaghetti Bolognaise ever since I had my first one over 13 years ago in SeaCafe by Lake Lucerne in a small town called Weggis, Switzerland.
• I was also thinking that the guy is pretty nice to have sent me another 3 quid since he had just sent me 3 quid less than a month ago… if only all my ‘customers’ were like him, I’d be laughing all the way to … Paypal right now!
• A friend who works at Sunway Lagoon has invited us to Sunway Lagoon this weekend, so I was thinking that I should get a pack of swimming diapers for Aaron..er..TMI?
• We were in Sunway Pyramid earlier today and I lined up at J. Co for a good 15 mins just to get 1/2 a dozen of donuts and an Ice Lemon Tea. I paid RM20 for it and the donuts were in the box for less than 5 mins… and the darn Ice Lemon Tea is probably the cause of my apparent lack of wanting sleep at the moment!
• Oh yes, I was also thinking of the yummy Bak Kut Teh that we ate for dinner. Yum Yum Yum that’s all I can say.
• I signed up for a Nuffnang account today and wonder when I’ll get my first assignment. By the way Nuffnang is a ad publication network and they provide PPP(payperpost) opportunities, something like Pay Per Post but this one is based in Malaysia.
• I was also reminding myself that I should call a friend of mine to inform her that we will be making a Hari Raya visit to her house next week on day 1 of Raya. Oooh.. just can’t wait to taste the delicious Chicken Rendang with dark soya dish that they make every year.

I’ve just realised that my entire conversation with myself has been about FOOD or related to food. LOL…what else does a person think about at this time of the morning? (3.44am now)

I’ve been reading a lot of other blogs of late and realised that a lot people who blog are so full of themselves (which would technically include me into the equation!) No offence to some of my friends who write lovely blogs - those that I routinely read - BUT some of these blogs that I’ve been reading lately are really really self indulgent. There is usually an About Me page and they go on and on about themselves…

This has brought me to the conclusion that I am going to write a Me, Myself and I post, that will be linked to my very short About Me page that currently looks like it is lacking character!

3.52am and almost 2 hours wide awake…I think it is time to say Good Night !
