This morning I had to send Ethan to school because his dad had an early morning meeting and has rushed out the door at 8am.

I had showered both boys and went downstairs for breakfast (omelette). Since Aaron had showered earlier than usual this morning I asked him to come along for the ride to send his koko (brother/Ethan) to school (nursery). Aaron excitedly put on his ‘per’ (slippers) and sat in the car thinking that he was being invited to go to school with Ethan!

His school is just a short drive away from our home about 2 straight roads away. When we arrived at the side gate Ethan grabbed his bag and jumped out of the car when he was greeted by teacher Sasha (Aaron was wondering when I was going to “free” him from the seat!) As Ethan entered the side gate I told Aaron to wave and say bye-bye to Ethan…Aaron was so MAD with his mummy he was hitting his leg in anger for not being let out of the car to join his brother. He said ‘go cool me, go koko’ (go school me, go with koko) , as I was pulling away (while still hitting his leg) he kept saying “go koko, go koko cool” (go with koko, go with koko to school).

All I said was “Aaron…babies who still wear pampers (diapers) are not allowed to go to school”. Aaron looks down at his shorts touches his diaper and relented saying “koko oni” (koko only)  lol..

This reminds me of a very vivid memory of myself at age two and a half years. It was the day after my mother had bought me one of those briefcase look alike bags, you know the hard ones…(if you are at least 30 years old, you’ll know what I am talking about!)

Rewinding back…30 years ago..

My brother wakes up really early like at 6am as his bas sekolah (school bus) ah chek (driver) swings by at 6.30am to pick him up. That morning I was still in bed when I heard the familiar honking of the school bus and quickly dashed out of my room carrying my new school bag (still in pajamas), ran down the stairs shouting “ah chek tan wah, ah chek tan wah, wah lai liao” (uncle wait for me, uncle wait for me, I am coming) as I heard the bus door slam shut! My mom was just closing the door (when I made it to the door) after seing my brother up the school bus and I was really mad, I questioned her…”hamisoo ah chek boh tan wah?” (why didn’t the bus driver wait for me?……)

Kids will be kids..always wanting to grow up faster, how I wish I could be a kid again when life was so care free

First the official business stuff that makes me money…

1. Top on my task list is a total revamp of the http://dreamsandyou.com website that has generated a total gross income of $0.03 since I created it last year in December (I think or it could be January this year). I’ve decided to turn the hopeless blog into an adsense VRE (virtual real estate)…at least I hope that it will at least make enough money before it is time to renew the domain this year. So the target is $10 in the next 6 months!

2. I am trying to finish uploading all the pictures that we have taken over the last year to my Facebook, there are at least another 5 albums to go…

3. Trying real hard to make more consistent google adsense income from my free information page. So far the earnings have been very inconsistent with some days making as much as $8 then on some days only $0.15 hahahaha!! The great thing about adsense income is it is set up and forget (this is true with VREs) so you can set up like 20 websites that make you $3 a day which will gross in $21,900 a year. If you are thinking that this is impossible…please note that MANY people to this and they make more than $3 a day per website! They also have as many as 500 websites !!! If you do the maths you’ll realise that these people can take a whole month off from “work” and go to Paris on a shopping spree and still have a lot of money sitting in their bank accounts when they get back. (life is unfair..isn’t it?:P)

4. I need to edit and update all my websites, some of them are still oferring promotions for July! Imagine….????

The last but very important thing on my list of things to do is to get a HAIRCUT. I’ve been needing one for like the past 3 months now!! The only problem is that I haven’t decided what I want. Short or long? Straight or permed? Coloured or black? or a highlight perhaps? Maybe a boyish cut but permed for volume? or just another short bob (BORING!)

What is life without choices? perhaps it will give me less of a headache deciding!

July was a hectic month for me offline but a very low month for me online in terms of sales even though I launched a new subscription service. The low subscription fee of only 10 pounds did not help with my earnings too.

So I ended July at with an all time low of

USD 271.51

GBP 548.98

making my total income  USD$ 1284.11.

In July I also collected my first affiliate payment for promoting a 2 gambling products on my STP blog, this added almost 200 pounds to my earnings. Which means my own product sales was even less than 1k this month (july)…SHAME SHAME…

I have no excuses except to tell you that when I got past the 1.5k mark I started to get lazy and just sat around and did nothing while hoping that sales will continue to grow as it did in the past. Well reality has hit and set in, so I’ve started to work on more new stuff this month in August as you can see from my previous posts I’ve have decided to get my hands into Adsense and more affiliate products as I forsee that this is the way forward.

I am currently working on my very first VRE in hopes of generating at last $100 a month from it but lets see…I don’t have much experience in this field so I need to learn fast. Test , test, test… only keeping whatever that is proven to work and dumping the rest. Wish me luck!

When I started out trying to make an income online slightly over a year back, I used a very powerful tool (YouTube) to suck in traffic to my website and converted some of this traffic into paying customers. Back then I was really lost and just aiming my shots (strategy) blindly so my income grew steadily but rather slowly.

Using YouTube alone to promote my very first product resulted in more than 150 sales and motivated me to work harder but smarter in the online world. I created a gambling themed blog next and after I that released 2 other products and launched 2 subscription websites which has resulted in earnings in excess of $15,000 over the course of a year. I think many people would be happy to earn even an extra $1000. So read on…

All this while until just a month ago I was waiting to sell my products to new customers and had not realised that I owned a very important email list of 500+ past customers. I had read time and again that the money was in the list but had little idea of how to go about milking this list. If you remember a few posts back I told you about Clate Mask and his free report, after reading it I was all geared for action. I thought of how I would try to make money off my current list. This resulted in me launching another subscription website late last month and the free information website that I talked about in my Google Adsense post.

I am going to show you what I did and what I achieved from it – (cause and effect show!)

Since my very last post was about how I used a free info webpage to make some Google Adsense income, I’ll show you the effect of this email series and how much money I have made from it.

As you can see this is a brand new website/sub domain. Since I own 10 different website I can easily create as many sub domains as so that I can track my performance. Also a new domain only cost me $7.15 so I could easily move this to its own domain later if it works.

You can see from here that the sub domain was registered and had some traffic coming in from July followed by a spike in traffic in August. This spike in traffic is nothing more than me sending a few emails out to my email list of 500+ subscribers. Here is date specific view of the traffic that this sub domain received in August.

If you can remember from my last post where I wrote about my adsense income over the last 7 days, you can see from this chart exactly when the first email was sent out. It was 14th August.

I have sent out a total of 5 emails so far, the first email was to inform my list subscribers that I have some free information to share with them that they may find beneficial and the next 4 were just reminders that I had updated the page with new information.

Do remember that this sub domain does not get any new traffic whatsoever as I have not advertised it anywhere or even linked to it from my blog.

Here is what I have made so far from just 5 emails.

These Adsense earnings is the latest update after I wrote the earlier blog post, so I actually made $27.08 instead of the $24.05 that you see there as the 7th days earnings had not been added to the total when I took that screenshot.

Now for a quick look at my Clickbank Account.

Since the 14th of August I’ve made $36 and this is a direct result of the 5 emails that were sent to my mailing list. The $36 is actually just commissions from 2 sales that I referred.

There is one other product that I reviewed on the webpage and this one is pretty interesting.

I had posted an old review of a racing system that I wrote a while back at the bottom of the free info webpage and this resulted in 4 sales of this product providing me with an additional £30 commission per sale. So that is an extra £120 from a 200 word review that I added to the website.

So that would be roughly $240 (betexprofits) + $36 (clickbank) + Google Adsense ($27.08), making a grand total of $303.08 in 7 days without incurring any cost whatsoever.

All I need to do is keep posting new product reviews and provide quality information for my past customers to devour.
Also keep in mind that I have not opened up the website to the general public yet and the current traffic is coming solely from my email list of 500+ subscribers (which is considered tiny compared to other internet marketers who have lists with 10k – 20k subscribers).

At this point I should remind you that I am a complete novice at using email lists to generate income just as I am also an amateur at using google adsense to make extra money but they both look like they will become a permanent part of my online efforts.

So have I convinced you that the money is in the email list?

People use a variety of methods to generate income online and Google Adsense is one very popular method. Although I’ve been reading about how to do it over the last year I have never really bother to try to make much from it… until last week.

Previously I had already been making a little loose change from Google Adsense but I have never looked at it as a potential source of income as I thought that it would be too difficult to generate big enough checks to make it worth my while (time pursuing it).

As I am in the midst of a test and review, I decided to allow mypast customers the opportunity to view what I was doing. I always test all products that I intend to review before I actually write the review, this enables me to give my honest opinion about the product. I test each racing system out either by placing actual bets or just paper trading, sometimes even back testing. To do this, I use the product’s recommended selection method to identify the bets, then either place a small bet or just paper trade.

Since I had been doing this for a while already, I decided to invite all my past 500+ customers to join me in testing. I created a webpage to allow my customers to view the picks so that they could follow the betting if they liked. Since the service was free (for now) I thought of how I could make money from the influx of traffic to this webpage and decided that I could make money using a 2 pronged strategy.

First I would make some money from placing “discreet” google ads in strategic places and the other money making technique would be to promote other people’s products otherwise known as affiliate marketing (which is also relatively new to me).

As it turns out I have made quite a nice amount over the last 7 days. Since this post is about Google Adsense, so it shall not share the spotlight with my affiliate sales. Just Google Adsense alone has made me a grand $24.05, which is pretty good considering that it is sort of like free money or passive income. Since the information was going to be uploaded on this webpage anyway and just by adding a single adsense code I made myself $24.05 richer. On one of the 7 days I made $8, simply amazing. But let me warn you it is not as easy as I make it sound. Just by putting an adsense code isn’t going to make you any money, it is the whole “strategy” or plan that needs to be put in motion that will bring about a good amount of adsense income that can be worthwhile… ie enough to buy something with…not just a few cents..(many people manage to make a few cents..)

The beauty about google ads is that they give you the ability to change the colours to match that of your website and this really make a lot of difference with click through rates. Getting XX clicks over a week is no easy feat I tell you.

Now see this screenshot of where the clicks came from and I’ll explain why I put the ads there in the first place.

You need to place your ads in strategic locations so as to help the click through rates. As you can see HLP Daily Lays has XX clicks. (more clicks compared to the rest) This is my main top banner ad for all the pages that are linked to this webpage. Here is a screenshot of the ad.

You can see that ad 1 is placed on top right below some of my own links, the best is to place them as close together as possible. Once people have read what they need to read on this webspage they are very likely to look for something else to proceed to.

Since Google has the technology to place ads that are relevant to your site’s content their is a high likelihood that they will find an ad that interests them. This is why google is the leading ad provider and why some people can make a fortune with Google adsense. All they do is keep churning out websites that provide people with good quality information and place google ads strategically.

My ad 2 is placed right next to the information that they are looking for, just incase they might have scrolled down and ad 1 is  no longer in view. So this is why ad 2 has the second highest click through rate. You can see in the expanded google ads screenshot above, it is Daily Lays Box Ads with XX clicks. (less than for ad 1)

Now for the Grand Plan that would bring people to my website and inadvertently click on my ads…

You see I have a mailing list of over 500 people who are my past customers so I decided to email all of them to tell them about this new product that I would be testing and invited them to test it out alongside with me.

This resulted in 200+ people going to my website (the first day) to check it out and they did exactly as I expected and clicked on some ads. The traffic also resulted in one affiliate sale on the first day (more on affiliate sales in another post).

From this exercise I have added an additional income stream of $24 in 7 days, this is now worth my while… don’t you think?

Well, as the saying goes “free things are the best” and better still if you can monetize free stuff then you have potentially a money making formula that can last a pretty long time.

Wait till you hear about how this website made me $100 pounds from affiliate sales….in a later post!

Since I was so busy last month I never got round to writing this post. June was a very average month but my earnings was boosted by some “new” income generated through the art of affiliate marketing which is pretty much unchartered territory for me until June.

I made an extra 200 pounds through selling other peoples’ products and was absolutely pleased with my achievement so this month I am putting more effort into affiliate marketing.

This is the summary of my earnings for the month of June according to my Paypal statement.

USD 207.31

GBP 668.80

My total income for the month of June was  USD 1517.33 .   AVERAGE… I really need to keep it above 2k…

July is no better I think , the Paypal statement should be out in a day or two.

I’ve also just logged into my Google Adsense account and found that this blog has finally generated almost enough money to pay for its domain renewal next year HAHAHA… MichelleKhang.Com has generated a grand total of $6.42, this domain cost me $7.15 so I think by the end of the year this blog would at least have paid for itself.

I should really start thinking of how I am going to make this “real estate” (this blog) make a little more money. But at the moment all my efforts are concentrated elsewhere.
